Emma Stone to star in ‘And’

VARIETY – Yorgos Lanthimos, the filmmaker behind dark comedies like “The Favourite” and “The Lobster,” has lined up a starry ensemble for his next movie, titled “And.”

Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons and Margaret Qualley will star in “And,” which is set at Searchlight Pictures. Plot details for the film have been kept under wraps.

In addition to directing, Lanthimos is writing the screenplay with Efthimis Filippou, his collaborator on “The Lobster” and “The Killing of a Sacred Deer.” Element Pictures and Film4 helped develop the script, and Film4 co-financed the project, which begins principal photography in New Orleans next month (October).

“And” marks another collaboration for Lanthimos and Stone, who worked together on the Oscar-nominated “The Favourite” and the upcoming “Poor Things.” The quirky period drama “The Favourite,” co-starring Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz, scored nine Academy Award nods in total, including best supporting actress for Stone and best director for Lanthimos.

‘Bleat’ promotion

Emma Stone flew to Athens, Greece, to promote her mini film ‘Bleat‘ this week! On May 05 she attended the press conference and on May 06 she attended the premiere. She was absolutely gorgeous. Find hundreds of pictures from these events below:

‘Bleat’ first look and trailer

Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos reunite for the short film Bleat! It was shot in Greece in early 2020 and was supposed to premiere in May 2020 but of course, it wasn’t possible. Now in 2022, it’s finally time! The film is commissioned as part of the Greek National Opera and nonprofit NEON program “The Artist on the Composer.” French actor Damien Bonnard also stars. Bleat will have its world premiere on May 6, accompanied by live music ensembles May 6–8 in Kallithea, Greece. Find the first still in the gallery and watch the trailer below:

New Cruella behind the scenes pictures

While Emma is on set of Poor Things, I’ve added a bunch of new behind the scenes pictures from Cruella, enjoy!

‘Cruella 2’ is in the works!

DEADLINE – Oscar winner Emma Stone has closed a deal to star in the sequel to Cruella, in what is a very good sign for Disney as it secures talent in the wake of some criticism of its theatrical-Disney+ Premier model.

Cruella, due to the pandemic, was released in theaters and on Disney+ PVOD tier on May 26, earning more than $222 million in worldwide ticket sales. The release of Cruella 2 is a ways off, and it’s not certain at this time whether the movie will be a pure theatrical release or like its predecessor released simultaneously in homes.

Emma Stone’s deal for Cruella 2, I hear, mutually benefits both sides especially at a time when Disney is still assessing the dynamic window model on its event titles.

Cruella was praised by critics at 74% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, who also cited future awards-season buzz for the pic. The movie also earned an ‘A’ CinemaScore from audiences.

There is no known plot as of now.
